After attaining a degree from the University of Central Lancashire I worked with a leading estate agent from 1993 and established one of the North East's leading lettings agencies in 1999. With this expertise and as a founding member of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme and a member of the Property Ombudsmen I've advised local Councils and Housing Associations and my clients include private individuals, Corporate entities and Buy to Let Institutions. Our systems, expertise and long standing relationships with service professionals enable us to advise and assist Landlords and enable us to offer tenants a choice of safe, properly maintained and desirable accommodation, while maximising Landlords' returns on investment. I have been the landlord of my own growing portfolio since 2004. I spent 10 years in the army and have dealt with all the issues arising from renting out property from as far away as Cypus, America and best of all Afghanistan! So I thought looking after landlords interests and tenants needs from a UK desk would be relatively straight forward…….. wrong! The market is constantly changing and as a result I am constantly fine tuning the techniques I employ to keep our landlords void periods minimal and returns up. At the moment, I am ensuring all of our landlords are aware of the energy saving and grant funded property improvements available. Wherever possible, I want a brand new combi, double glazing, wall and roof insulation for every one of the eligible properties under our management. Good properties attract and retain good tenants.
